Hi Everyone..or as the Bosnians say, Zdravo!
I'm back from my European adventures, with enough time to spare for another blog on my favourite place in the whole world: Sarajevo! It was a great holiday, here are some of my pictures....
For the first few days we went to Split in Croatia, which is really beautiful. The city of Split is as equally stunning as the nature, with its dramatic Roman architecture....
The harbour was really stunning and I'm really proud of the way this picture came out...
The
Diocletian's Palace with it's 'Golden Gate' and the grand satue is also a sight worth seeing....
After three days, we took an eight hour long bus journey to Bosnia, to the capital city where I was born, Sarajevo! The most stunning part of the journey, which I think makes the eight hours worthwhile, is the view of the stunning Neretva River....
There are no words to describe how wonderful this place is! The bus drivers always stop here with this amazing view. I have taken this picture many times before, always in awe at those mountains and the turquoise colour of the Neretva river!
And finally at our arrival in Sarajevo... This is in the centre, the bazaar known as 'Bascarsija',

The iconic, 'Sebilj' fountain:
As Wikipedia explains: 'The
Sebilj (an Arabic word meaning kiosk-shaped public fountain) or as visitors frequently call it “the pigeon square”. The Sebilj is a fountain in the centre of Baščaršija square in Sarajevo'
And for a true Bosnian experience, one of the most important things ofcourse is drinking the Bosnian Kafa, which is just like turkish coffee....
and drinking the Bosnian Beer...'Sarajevsko Pivo'...
As wel as eating the deilicous, traditional food: 'Cevapi' or 'Cevapcici'....
tourist info, cevapi
And as my tour of Sarajevo sadly nears to an end....I will show you some of my pictures of the stunning 'Vrelo Bosne', which is the spring of the River Bosna (as I have shown in a previous entry to my blog.)
Definately a place worth seeing...well until next time!
As we say...Cao! xxxxxxxxxx
